aDeDe, specialised company, was appointed to search
and expose possible present airplane bombs on the
industrial district of Total, Rieme. Since 2004
people have been busy removing the old acid tar lagoons.
The chance on finding unexploded bombs during these
works is real. The district and the surroundings were
heavily bombed during WW2.
Part aDeDe
1. Preliminary research:
-
Historical research of the company district and
surroundings.
- Making risk analysis and safety plan and environment
plans.

2. During the soil remediation:
The acid tar is removed from the lagoons and
processed at place. The polluted soil is scraped off
layer per layer afterwards. Previously every layer
is detected by an expert of explosives. The gathered
detection-data is processed through software,
compared with each other and projected on plan to
define the exact position of the detected objects.

The objects are uncovered and excavated under
supervision of the eod-expert since August 21 2006.
aDeDe is taking the necessary arrangements (safetyplans,
risk analysis, placement of safety measures,
continuous observation,...) to ensure safe working
conditions and reduce the risks to the acceptable.
With an exposure of an UXO, Dovo will be informed
immediately. Dovo defines which extra measures will be necessary to protect the
surroundings.
On december 4th 2006 a previously detected
bomb has been uncovered.
