     C-Power

Since june 2007, off the shore of the Belgian harbor Zeebrugge, works have started to build a new farshore windmill park on the Thornton Bank. Producing 1000 GW/hour on a yearly basis, this will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm, providing electricity for about 600.000 people.

Submarine cables of 150 kV will transport the produced electricity under high voltage to the public grid on land. In order to dig in these cables in the best and safest circumstances, project development company C-Power has called in aDeDe to clear the traject of this cable from metal objects, which may also include sea mines or other remnants of war.

Specialized divers of aDeDe have been raising the many detected objects to the surface since may 2008. The beginning of the energy production has been sheduled for october 2008.
