EOD & Disposal:

EOD operations involve the detection, identification, field evaluation, blast reduction actions, render safe, recovery and disposal of UXO. EOD may be undertaken as a routine part of mine action, operations following the discovery of UXO in or near mined areas. EOD operations may also be undertaken to dispose of UXO discovered outside mined areas. Such operations may involve a single UXO, or a number of UXO at a specified location such as a mortar or artillery gun position. It may also involve a stockpile of ammunition left in a bunker or an ammunition point. Roving clearance tasks are mainly quick response actions, primarily conducted on villages or the areas of land used by a village, while area clearance tasks are carried out for specific purposes, for example clearing the ground for construction/development projects, for agriculture or prior to resettlement.

UXO and mines should normally be destroyed in-situ by detonation or moved to a suitable location for disposal. If it is not possible or suitable to destroy or transport UXO in-situ for reasons of safety or for local environmental considerations such as the proximity of buildings or facilities, the ammunition shall be rendered safe by low order technique, by overpressure (subsurface technique), by neutralisation or disarming, prior to moving it to a suitable location for disposal.

Ammunition technical sheets (paper or digital) are to be used to apply the correct technique of destroying in situ, the amount and emplacement of the donor charge, and the Render Safe Procedure (RSP) to be used.

Our motto is: people come first.
