Technical Survey:

Technical survey is the detailed technical and topographical investigation of known or suspected hazardous areas. Such areas may have been previously identified during national surveys or otherwise reported. The primary aim of a technical survey is to determine the outer edge of the hazardous area and the likely depth of mines and UXO.

This will enable the clearance requirement to be more accurately defined so that subsequent clearance operations can be conducted in a safe, effective and efficient manner.

Survey for Area clearance tasks are those that deal with both surface and subsurface UXO's over a specific area normally clearing land for a definite purpose like a construction or development project or for agricultural purposes.

aDeDe also provides Surveys for Roving clearance tasks. These are mainly concerned with detection and identification of UXO's that are located on the surface in a non-specific area such as the land owned by a village. This survey is usually followed directly by clearance.
